I was so excited when I was asked to plan a weeks worth of organic meals for under $100! My first through was wow that cannot be done. I like everyone else thought that organic meant expensive. Well it wasn’t until I go to take a value tour at the local Whole Foods store here in Charlotte, NC. Let me tell you that this is my new favorite store. Its almost like the whole store is fake, because its so perfectly put together & organized you will be amazed. They have everything organic & healthy that you could ever need or want. I was able to go on a value tour which is where they will take you through the store and let you know a little info about each section.
They have fresh produce, fresh meat market, a bulk section, fresh cheese bar, wine bar, fresh bakery, fresh pizza, fresh food bag & so much more. Fresh, fresh, fresh is what they are known for. My favorite part had to be that they sold items that were local. While I was there a local farmer came in to check on how his steaks were selling. I thought that was amazing, and something you won’t see in an every day store.
They had about 6 fresh bars of fresh food. Salads, soups, veggies, fruit, homemade dishes & much more. I loved just looking around to check out what fresh items they had on the menu today. They even had amazing looking gelato – Ohhh yum 🙂
So mission that day was to get meals for 7 days for under $100 & they had to be organic! After taking my value tour I learned that Whole Foods has their own brand and most of the time its 50% cheaper then name brand items. Its not like store brand food where its lesser quality, its all amazing quality that is checked & up to standards. They love it so much they stuck their name on it. So my goal was to stick to finding the best price & the best deal. Whole Foods even offers a booklet of coupons that you can grab when you first walk into the store. And keep on the lookout because they have daily & weekend deals every week. Sometimes they have daily deals & you will only find those once you walk into the store and check out the big chalk board where they display most of the popular deals.
After taking my tour I sat down in the restaurant area and came up with a meal plan. Now since my husband & son are not home at all for breakfast or lunch I had to find something simple and easy. I picked up a box of oats & fresh raspberries & strawberries and ate that for the week. I am not a huge breakfast eater so this worked out perfect especially since I am always on the go in the mornings. I also decided that each dinner I made that week that I would make sure to either make extra or save some so that I could eat it for lunch the next day. It worked out perfect! Plus my dinner meals were so amazing that I loved having left overs the next day.
Now I will share with you what dinner meals I made for the week. Remember these are all organic, and delicious meals that feed all 3 of us & had plenty of extras for the next day. Also all recipes were very easy, nothing to complicated & nothing that needed a lot of ingredients.

So there you see I made 7 meals, 7 breakfast meals, and had 7 lunch meals for a grand total of $102.33. I did go over my $100 budget but that was just the overflow of tax. I was very impressed with myself & very impressed that I bought all organic items under $100. Before this shopping trip I would have never guessed this was possible.
Now I challenge you to head over to Whole Foods and do what I did! You will be impressed & see that its possible. Let me know if you try any of these recipes & how they turned out. I would love to get input on how you achieve a great budget eating only organic items.
