Whats For Dinner? Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

I have not ate stuffed cabbage rolls since my mom made them years ago. We had a head of cabbage that was needed to be used, so I decided to make them for the first time. They came out amazing, and I am sure will be on the dinner menu again :)

What you need:

1/3 cup uncooked white rice

8-10 cabbage leaves

1 pound lean ground beef (I used ground turkey)

1/4 cup chopped onion or onion flakes

1 egg, slightly beaten

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 jar of pasta sauce

Now to prepare:

Pre-heat over to 425 degrees

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Bring a large, wide saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add cabbage leaves and cook for 2 to 4 minutes or until softened; drain.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, 1 cup cooked rice, onion, egg, salt and pepper, along with 2 tablespoons of tomato soup. Mix thoroughly.

Divide the beef mixture evenly among the cabbage leaves. Roll and secure them with toothpicks

In a large pan place the cabbage rolls right next to each other, Take the pasta sauce and drizzle it evenly all over.

Bake for about 20-25min

5min before time to take out sprinkle some cheese on top

Remove from the oven, and enjoy :)

Now my ending picture didn’t look so good because we consumed a lot of it before I remembered to take a picture.

Let me know if you make this recipe :)
