My Stressful Harris Teeter Trip!

I first want to start out and say that I have came to realize I am spoiled with coupons, free items & grocery store sales. Within this past month I have had a lot going on and therefor have really putting shopping on hold. Therefor our cabinets and fridge have been so bare its not even funny.
Yes I have my stockpile but it doesn’t contain he everyday items that are needed constantly.
And since I have slacked off the stockpile has been dug into!
Tonight I ran to Harris Teeter because we needed some lunch items, meat, bread and a few other stuff.
I didn’t go with a plan but I did go with a list and my coupons.
Let me tell you something- Paying more for items then I usually do was pretty hard. I kept telling my mom that I don’t understand how people just come and shop and pay full price and walk out with 10 things for $100! It was seriously a stressed out moment for me.
But these were things we need now even if they were on sale or not- because well I have been slack and missed some great sales!
We are so used to getting so many free items, and stocking up like crazy that when we take a big break and then needed something right away it hurts to pay more then you usually do for it!
That being said I did get a good bunch but felt like I didn’t get a lot for what I spent!
Total Savings: $94.06
Total OOP: $67.73
That’s around 58% savings. I always say 50% is better then nothing right?
Now I still have to get some produce, meats and a couple more things and we will be set!
The moral of the story is: Don’t take a break from couponing and shopping great sales. Because before you know it you are so behind that you have to pay more in the long end!

Those natural bliss I am finding to be a good deal @ my local target. They are $2.39 each but i usually end up with a catalina from them for $1.50 of 3. Plus with coupons they did that $1.00 on their fb page. So i did the target coupon $1.50 plus 2-$1 and 1-.55cent oop=3.12 (saved $4.05) or 1.04 each. Not a bad price for creamer that is way too yummy.

I still think you did great. As long as at least half is saved, I feel its a victory.

I think as long as you keep doing a little here and there, you shouldn't feel like you're behind :)

That's how i do it and it works great for us! :)
